The NASCAR Xfinity Series is in action this week at the Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday as it is the middle slate of the weekend for NASCAR DFS. We have Kyle Larson filling in for an injured Connor Zilisch and he was a late add to the slate which will make thing interesting for roster construction. Since there was no top Cup driver in the original pricing of the drivers, the Xfinity regulars were priced a little higher than if there was. Larson was added later in the week at $12,500 giving him a $1500 higher price tag than the next driver, so all drivers are likely a little elevated in price so it could be harder to fit top drivers in your lineups. We also had practice and qualifying rained out so the lineup is very jumbled with Talladega last week giving us some big place differential plays.
Potential Dominators
Justin Allgaier
Kyle Larson
Austin Hill
Allgaier is one of the top drivers start at the front as he starts on the front row and has been fast just about everywhere this season. I expect him to have a good chance to get the lead at the start and could lead a chunk of laps early in the race.
Larson could be considered a place differential play starting back in 20th but at his high salary he is going to need some dominator points to end up optimal in a tournament. He is in top equipment so he should be able to move forward and be a contender in the race, we will just have to see how the race plays out and if he is able to lead enough by the end of the race to be one of the top plays on the slate.
Hill is the other option to lead early as he starts on the pole and if he has a good car this weekend he could lead a bunch to start. It will be a good battle to start between Hill and Allgaier to see who has the better car and will lead a good amount at the beginning of the race.
Place Differential Plays
Ryan Sieg
William Sawalich
Riley Herbst
Christian Eckes
Sammy Smith
Brandon Jones
Corey Day
We have an absolute ton of place differential options for this race with a lot of drivers wrecking at Talladega last week since the lineup is greatly based on the results of last week. Sieg and Sawalich start way back in the 30s and will be some high owned options for the race this weekend. Sieg will especially be high owned as he almost won this race last season. Herbst, Eckes, Smith, and Jones all start in the 20s and should have the cars to have top 10 potential this weekend. Since we didn't get practice its hard to predict which is going to be the best of this group but they all should be solid plays. Day is a great value play as he starts way in the back and is a cheap option this week in top equipment that should move forward.
Cheap Options
Parker Retzlaff
Josh Williams
Kyle Sieg
Jeremy Clements
Mason Massey
Joey Gase
Retzlaff has had speed at times this year and he starts back in 33rd so he has a lot of room to move forward. He should be a good play if he doesn't have any issues. Williams, Sieg, and Clements are all solid choices that start in the high 20s. They have had good runs on 1.5 mile tracks and should be able to move forward from their starting spots making them solid value plays. Massey and Gase are solid flier plays if you need to open up some salary in your lineups with cheaper drivers starting at the back.
