NASCAR heads to Texas this week for racing all weekend long in all 3 series starting off with the Truck race tonight under the lights. We only have Carson Hocevar coming down from the Cup series in the field for the Truck race this week and he hasn't raced in the Trucks in a while so we will see if he can contend with the likely favorite of Corey Heim. The 1.5 mile track should produce some good racing. Of course we get a semi predictable week and practice is canceled due to rain so there will be no practice times to go off of this week.
Potential Dominators
Corey Heim
Carson Hocevar
Tyler Ankrum
Chandler Smith
Heim is one of the fastest truck every week in the series and he won at the only other "normal" 1.5 mile track this season in Las Vegas. He should be the one to beat tonight. Hocevar will be the Cup driver in the field going for the win in the Spire Motorsports truck. He should be a contender even though he hasn't been in the trucks in a little bit. Ankrum has been good at 1.5 mile tracks in his career and he will have the chance to lead early as he starts on the pole. Chandler Smith and his teammate Layne Riggs could be contenders tonight and it would not surprise me, but that is more of a flier play for tournaments as there is not much to go off of for them here.
Place Differential Plays
Ty Majeski
Ben Rhodes
Stewart Friesen
Tanner Gray
Matt Crafton
Majeski, Rhodes, and Friesen are all good options tonight as they all start outside the top 20 and have top 10 potential in the race. They all are solid on 1.5 mile tracks and should move their way forward making them popular plays for the race. Tanner Gray has been running well as of late and usually runs well on 1.5 mile tracks. He starts back in 25th so he has a lot of room to move forward and should be a good option tonight. Crafton is another starting in the 20s and will have upside to move forward in the race.
Cheap Options
Matt Mills
Luke Fenhaus
Dawson Sutton
Stefan Parsons
Mills and Fenhaus will be popular cheap plays for the race tonight as they start way in the back in 30th and 27th. They should have a chance to finish around the top 20 with upside for more and should be good value plays this week. Sutton could go overlooked as he is priced between some drivers starting farther back but he has been running in the top 20 and could be a good play for the race at his price. Parsons starts dead last and is a better driver than that so as long as he starts out of trouble he should have positive place differential and is a good cheap play to open up some salary in your lineups.
