Truck Series Kansas DFS Picks

The NASCAR truck series heads to Kansas this week for another race on a 1.5 mile track. This week we have William Byron and Carson Hocevar coming down from the cup series to run the truck race so they will likely be threats towards the front of the field this week. We also saw a lot of the truck regulars be fast in practice so we should be in for some good racing under the lights tonight.

Potential Dominators

Kaden Honeycutt

Corey Heim

Layne Riggs

Carson Hocevar

Honeycutt was one of the fastest trucks in practice and runs good on 1.5 mile tracks. I expect him to run up front all race and be a contender tonight. Riggs was another that was good in lap averages in practice and should be fast in the race. He is another that should run in the top 5 and contend in the race. Heim is always a threat this season and this week isn’t any different as he had top 5 speed in practice. Heim also went and got 2nd in qualifying so he will have a chance to lead a lot early. Hocevar would be my play between the Cup drivers this week as he is the cheaper of the two, has ran the trucks more often recently, and qualified up front so he will have the track position to lead a lot if he has one of the best trucks.

Place Differential Plays

Brandon Jones

Stewart Friesen

Daniel Hemric

Jones is in the field again and once again has a lot of place differential upside. I don’t have high expectations as he has struggled this year in the trucks but I think he can run top 15 and be a solid play. Friesen looked good in practice and had pretty good speed. He is usually pretty good on these type of tracks and I would expect him to run in the top 10. Hemric starts back in 22nd so he has a lot of room to move forward as he is usually running among the top 10 each week. He didn't have great speed in practice but I would expect him to be better in the race.

Cheap Options

Giovanni Ruggiero

Matt Crafton

Luke Baldwin

Connor Mosack

Ruggiero was fast in practice and I think he can stay in the top 10 all day and be a solid cheap play for the race tonight. Crafton starts farther in the back and has a good amount of place differential to move forward. He has struggled this year but he’s in good equipment and should have top 15 potential with upside for more. Baldwin is in the same equipment coming from the same team and even though this is only his 2nd race I think he can move forward and be a good place differential option. Mosack had solid speed in practice and needs a good run this week as he has struggled this season. He starts in 20th so I think he will have top 15 potential in the race.
