The NASCAR Truck Series kicks off the racing weekend for Memorial Day Weekend with the Truck race at Charlotte on Friday Night. We have had a few 1.5 mile tracks recently so we should see a lot of the same drivers that were good then be good this week. Draftkings has priced up Corey Heim since he has been dominating the series making this is the first time ever that Kyle Busch is in a Truck race and is not the highest priced driver.
Potential Dominators
Corey Heim
Ross Chastain
Layne Riggs
Gio Ruggiero
Heim being priced a little more expensive this week is not scaring me off. He has had dominate speed at every track this year and he should be one of the fastest trucks again tonight. He should lead laps and be the Truck to beat throughout the race. Chastain is in the Truck race this week and he looked good in practice and seemed to be happy with his truck. The Niece Motorsports Trucks seem to run the best at 1.5 mile tracks and I would expect him to run towards the front in this race. Riggs has been Heims most consistent competition at 1.5 mile tracks this season as they battled it out for the win last week. Riggs was fast in practice again this week with top 5 lap averages and I would expect him to be a contender in the race tonight. Ruggiero is a good sleeper play tonight as he has been running well recently this season and had top 5 speed in practice. He backed it up by going out and getting the pole so he will have a chance to lead early. If he can get some laps led and finish around the top 5, he can be a great play at $7000 salary.
Place Differential Plays
Grant Enfinger
Tyler Ankrum
Ben Rhodes
Parker Kligerman
Enfinger is usually a solid option to run towards the front in the truck series and he starts back in 18th for the race tonight. He has had solid speed on 1.5 mile tracks and he should be a good place differential play tonight. Ankrum is another that has his best runs on 1.5 mile tracks but he did not get a good qualifying lap in so he starts way back in 23rd. He should move forward and be a great place differential play with top 10 upside for the race. Rhodes had solid speed in practice and has had good runs on the recent 1.5 mile tracks. He starts back in 21st so he has a lot of room to move forward and should be a good place differential option with top 10 upside in the race. Kligerman didn't have the best qualifying run and should be able to move forward and have top 15 potential in the race.
Cheap Options
Stewart Friesen
Matt Crafton
Andres Perez De Lara
Luke Fenhaus
Friesen struggled in practice today and had issues in qualifying as his car shut off coming off pit road. Due to this he starts in the back. I don't have super high hopes but he is a driver that runs top 10 a lot and should be able to move forward and at least contend for a top 20 even if his truck isn't the best. Picking Crafton has not worked out a lot this season but I am not giving up on him when he has a lot of place differential potential. He starts back in 25th and should be able to move forward and be a good play tonight if he stays out of trouble. Perez De Lara had a lot of speed in practice and has shown solid speed this season running just outside the top 10 a lot this season. With the speed he has shown I think he is a solid option starting 14th he could move a few spots forward and be a good play at his price. Fenhaus starts in the back with an issue in practice and did not qualify so he has a bunch of place differential spots to gain and will be a popular pick tonight.
