NASCAR Xfinity Series Las Vegas DFS Picks

The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads west to Las Vegas for a Saturday race under the lights on the 1.5-mile oval. This race opens the Round of 8 in the playoffs, and drivers will be battling for a spot in the Championship 4. With 201 laps on the schedule, there are plenty of dominator points available, so targeting the right lap leaders will be important for DFS. JR Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing have been strong on the intermediates this year, and we have a solid group of comps from tracks like Kansas, Texas, and Charlotte to guide our picks. Expect long green runs and a focus on track position, tire management, and clean air throughout the race.

Potential Dominators

Justin Allgaier

Connor Zilisch

Taylor Gray

Nick Sanchez

Allgaier won this race in the spring and had good speed on the long run throughout practice. He starts on pole so he will have a good chance to lead laps early and be the top contender this week. His teammate Zilisch has been unstoppable lately and should be good again this week as he starts along side the front row in 2nd. He didn’t stand out in practice which gives me some hesitation using him at his high salary. Using Allgaier or other drivers instead could open up your options for the rest of your lineup. Gray and Sanchez are some other options that looked really good in practice and should run around the top 5 with upside to lead laps and be great value plays at their salaries.

Place Differential Plays

Ryan Sieg

Corey Day

Daniel Hemric

Trevor Bayne

Sieg was really fast on the speed charts and has been really good on 1.5 mile tracks for the most part this season. He should run up towards the front and be a great option at his salary. Corey Day has improved throughout the year as he has gotten more experience and was the fastest car in practice in lap averages throughout. He is a great value play at a lower salary and I would expect him to have top 5 upside this week. Hemric is in top equipment and should run in the top 10 this week making him a good value play as well.

Cheap Options

Jeb Burton

Parker Retzlaff

Dean Thompson

Ryan Ellis

Thomas Annunziata

Burton was really solid in practice and messed up in qualifying so he should be able to move forward from his low 20s starting spot. He is a great option this week to move forward. Retzlaff and Ellis had issues and did not get to qualify so they start dead last. Retzlaff is the better play but if you need salary relief Ellis is a low risk flier option as well. Thompson like Burton had good speed and should run around the top 15 in the race. Aunnunziata had pretty good lap times in practice and starts back in 29th so he could be a solid cheap option if he can run top 25.
