NASCAR heads to Indianapolis this week and the Xfinity Series is at the big track with the yard of bricks this weekend with the Cup Series. We had practice on Friday and qualifying just before the race on Saturday to set the lineup. I would expect track position to be really important this week and place differential is going to be key since Indy is a big track and there are limited laps for dominator points this week.
Potential Dominators
Connor Zilisch
Sam Mayer
Aric Almirola
Zilisch has been on fire recently as he has been one of the fastest drivers the last several weeks in the series and won on a similar Pocono track a few weeks ago. He was fast again in practice and I would expect Indy to be a track that him and his team have speed at. He should be up front and be a good option to potentially lead laps and contend for the win this week. Sam Mayer didn't show the best speed in practice but he is on the team that dominated this race last year so you would expect him to have speed. He starts on pole so he should have a chance to lead a lot of laps early and be a top contender today. Almirola is a veteran that I would not be surprised to run at the front and contend for the win at the end of the day in Indy. He has had solid speed all wekend and starts up front.
Place Differential Plays
Kyle Larson
Ryan Sieg
Taylor Gray
Larson is the Cup star this week that comes down to try to get a win in the Xfinity Series. He is priced up $1500 more than the next driver so I do not know if he is going to be worth the salary with the limited laps but he starts back in 19th after getting loose in qualifying. He should be a top contender throughout the day and will be a target for a lot of DFS players. Sieg had good speed in practice and has been good on large tracks this season. He starts back in 21st so he has some room to move forward and should have top 5 upside for the race. Gray had the best 5 lap average in practice by a good amount and he could be a great value play this week if he can run towards the front. I am not sure if he will lead laps but he could be a great play at $8600 salary if he has the top 5 speed we saw in practice.
Cheap Options
Daniel Dye
Matt Dibenedetto
Brennan Poole
Josh Williams
Mason Massey
Dye looked good in practice with what seemed like borderline top 10 speed. He starts in 18th so hopefully that keeps his ownership down but I think he can run top 15 and be a good value play this week. Dibenedetto had solid speed in practice and starts in 25th so he has a little room to move forward. He ran top 20 at Pocono and I would expect him to run around there today if he doesn't have any issues in the race. Poole is a solid option a lot in DFS and I think he can have another top 20 run this week in Indy. He had good speed in practice and finished 16th in Pocono a few weeks ago. Josh Williams had top 20 speed in practice and should have the car to move forward from his 31st starting spot giving him a good amount of place differential potential for the race. Massey is a solid flier play starting 33rd as he should move forward and his low salary helps open up options for higher priced drivers.
