The NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers are racing on Friday night this week on the half mile short track at Bristol. This is a race where you can expect some close racing, so staying out of trouble and on the lead lap will be key for having a good night and scoring a lot in DFS. The Xfinity Series has 300 laps on the half mile oval for drivers so there will be a lot of laps led and fastest laps to gain for drivers making dominators super important this week as well.Â
Potential Dominators
Justin Allgaier
Aric Almirola
Connor Zilisch
Sam Mayer
Justin Allgaier is great on short tracks and concrete ovals which makes Bristol the perfect track for him to get back on track and be a top contender this week. Allgaier for the pole and I expect him to lead early and likely lead the most laps tonight. Almirola had one of the best cars on the long run in practice and should be upfront battling for the lead this week. He starts 3rd so I expect him to run top 5 all race and have a chance to get the win. Zilisch has been dominant this season and he was happy with his car in practice this week. I don’t think he is going to be way better than some of these others so I doubt he is going to be worth his salary, but he is still a contender option that could get dominator points. But personally I’m probably not using him at his salary over Allgaier or Almirola. Mayer seemed really happy with his car after practice and thought they would be one of the best cars for the race. I tend to believe him and he starts on the front row.
Place Differential Plays
Sammy Smith
Nick Sanchez
Brandon Jones
Corey Day
Sammy Smith had some good lap times in practice and seemed happy with his car in his interview. I think he has a good car and should have top 10 potential in the race. Sanchez was just ok in practice on the speed charts but he has had some good runs this season when he stays out of trouble. He starts back in 20th so he should move forward and have potential to be a great play if he can have a top 10 car. Jones is pretty good at Bristol but should especially be good on the long run. He starts back in 22nd and should be a great place differential option this week. Day is in the car that won at Bristol earlier this season so we know he has the car to run well. He had good speed in practice and I would expect top 10 potential for him and could be a great value play tonight.
Cheap Options
Daniel Dye
Jeffrey Earnhardt
Anthony Alfredo
Brennan Poole
Dye didn’t have the best qualifying effort starting in 31st but he was solid in practice and we know he can run top 20 with upside for more. He should be a great place differential option for the race. Earnhardt is in solid equipment this week and had top 20 lap averages in practice. He starts back in 23rd so he has some room to move forward and is a solid place differential option. Alfredo is in the same boat as he had around top 20 speed as well and should be a good option at his salary to score some good points for DFS. Poole has been a great option for DFS this season and he especially runs well on short tracks. He starts in 18th and should be a good cheap option to have a solid run and be a good driver to use at his salary.
