The NASCAR Truck Series wraps up its season this Friday night under the lights at Phoenix Raceway with the Championship 4 set to battle it out for the title. Phoenix is a flat, one-mile tri-oval with tight corners and multiple restart lanes, making restarts a huge factor all night long. With 150 laps in this race, there are some dominator points up for grabs, but not enough to completely build around lap leaders alone. Instead, DFS strategy this week will focus on a mix of place differential and playoff narratives — especially around the Championship 4, who tend to run up front in this race every year. Corey Heim will be the driver to beat and is the heavy favorite as he has dominated this season with 11 wins.
Potential Dominators
Corey Heim
Layne Riggs
This shouldn't even be a question who is going to be the champion this season in the Truck series as Corey Heim has been in a different league than the other possible champions. Heim should have one of the best trucks and run at the front for this race and will be a top option this weekend for DFS. Riggs was the second best driver behind Heim all season and was fast in practice this weekend. He got the pole and should lead the laps at the beginning of the race and could potentially be the top dominator this week.
UPDATE: Riggs has a pass through for tech failure at the start so I would pivot to his teammate Chandler Smith to lead the early laps.
Place Differential Plays
Grant Enfinger
Tyler Ankrum
Matt Crafton
Enfinger has been solid all year and had good speed in practice. He starts back outside the top 20 and has big place differential potential as he could have top 5 upside in the race. Ankrum is one of the championship contenders but starts way back in 21st. He was solid in practice and I would expect him to be a top 10 contender in the race. Crafton had good speed in practice for what is his last career full time NASCAR race as he is retiring. He will want to end on a good finish and should have top 10 upside for the race tonight.
Cheap Options
Jake Garcia
Bayley Currey
Matt Mills
Dawson Sutton
Garcia is a riskier option starting up in 14th but he had good speed in practice and will have a chance to move forward. He is solid on flat style tracks and could have a good run tonight. Currey starts in 17th and has had some top 15 runs this season. There are limited cheap options this week so I think he is a solid choice. Mills starts way back in 33rd and is better than most of the back marker drivers so he should at least run top 25 with upside for more. Sutton had solid practice times and should be a good cheap option this week.
