The NASCAR Truck Series is back under the lights at Martinsville this week for the final race in the Round of 8 — and it’s all on the line with a Championship 4 spot up for grabs. Martinsville is a flat, half-mile paperclip-shaped short track where beating and banging is expected, and tempers tend to flare. With 200 laps in this race, dominator points will matter a lot for DFS, especially with stage cautions breaking things up. Track position is critical, as it’s tough to pass without moving someone out of the way, and getting trapped a lap down can happen fast on long green runs. Prioritize drivers with short-track speed and that are likely to stay towards the front throughout the Race.
Potential Dominators
Layne Riggs
Ty Majeski
Riggs is a top driver in the truck series on short tracks and he should be a top option this week at Martinsville. He was the best in lap averages and should be a top option to lead laps and contend for the win. Majeski is another that is really good on short flat tracks and should be good this week. He had good speed in practice and should be a good option this week.
Place Differential Plays
Chandler Smith
Ben Rhodes
Brent Crews
Jake Garcia
Tanner Gray
Chandler Smith was another that was good in practice on the long run and could have a chance to run up front as well. He starts in 18th so he has room to move forward as he should run in the top 5 with the speed he had in practice. Rhodes also was fast in practice and has a little bit of room to move forward starting 11th. Crews and Garcia both start just outside the top 20 and should be able to move forward. I especially like Crews as he was a little better in practice and could have top 10 upside. Gray also had some good speed and should be a lower owned option that can score a lot of points for his salary.
Cheap Options
Matt Crafton
Connor Mosack
Timmy Hill
Crafton was really good in practice with top 5 speed and starts back in 15th. If he can stay out of trouble he should have a top 10 truck and be a good option this week. Mosack also had speed in practice and starts back in 17th so he has some place differential potential as well. He should be a solid option to run in the top 15. There are limited cheap options that I think will stay on the lead lap early but I do think Timmy Hill is a good option. He had solid speed in practice and usually races pretty well and can move forward.
tall selection, especially for the front row.
